Where the Dust Still Glows
- Dream Lord Wars
When: 22-Sep-26
Why do you need to read it?
Because you've been told to stay small, and you've wondered whether the problem was you.
Three hundred and eleven times, they reached into Lixiss and removed who she was becoming. She shaped her Who into someone she wanted to be anyway.
For readers of Blood Over Bright Haven and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.
What it's about
Lixiss was created to light dreamplanes. She lights dreamers instead — which nobody ordered, nobody can explain, and she’s decided not to think about too hard because there's work to do.
Then a dream lord goes dark. Lixiss makes the mistake of saving her, and by morning the dream lords have issued a notice for her capture.
Past the edge of every Place, there's a room full of boxes. Every box has a person like Lixiss in it. Every one of them was born to the wrong class, or with the wrong gift, or the wrong life, and the light inside each one is going out on schedule.
Sapphic slow burn, found family, and a mangled system that was “never broken.”
Without Villains
- October Sky Trilogy
When: 17-Nov-26
Why you should read it
Because everyone in it thinks they're doing the right thing, and that's what makes it hurt.
This is where October Sky begins — before the power, before the name, before she learned what it costs to be the one who survives.
What it's about
Three women in a city where the water is killing people who can't prove it.
October is hiding what she can do. Victoria is running for Senate on a promise she isn't sure she can keep. Dannika is running toward a future that has terrified her for her entire existence.
By the end, all three will erase something to protect someone — and none of them will be wrong.
Reading free on Substack. Chapters come down November 1.

The Ideas Behind the Stories
I enjoy writing stories with grit, that make us ask questions or that shake our assumptions.
The easiest one was with Whiskey Witches and the assumption that angels are good. Angels were never good until fiction made them so. Before that, they were a-holes.
But there was an assumption that demons are evil, and I wanted to challenge that too. Because why? Why were they evil?
To control us. Not demons. The Church and men in power.
I love asking those questions and then feeling around them.
What does power really cost and why don’t we reach for it?
When does loyalty become dangerous and why don’t we let it go when it no longer serves us?
Who decides who we’re allowed to become and why don’t we fight to be who we want to be?
And I do all of that in fantasy and sci-fi landscapes because—come on. Those locations are fun!
